As political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, youth groups in Nasarawa State have intensified calls on a former member of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Abdullahi Dahiru Angibi, to recontest his seat.
The call was made during a stakeholders’ meeting held in Lafia by youths operating under the auspices of the Good Leadership, Transparency and Awareness group.
Speaking at the meeting, the leader of the group, Comrade Zubairu Ibrahim Auta, said the youths were united in their resolve to encourage credible and experienced leaders to return to the legislative arena.
According to Auta, Hon. Angibi’s previous tenure was marked by effective representation, grassroots engagement, and strong advocacy for youth inclusion and community development, describing him as “a tested and trusted legislator who understands the needs of the people.”
Our Correspondent reports that participants at the meeting noted that early political formation ahead of 2027 is necessary to ensure quality representation and sustain democratic accountability in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly.
The youth groups pledged to sustain consultations and mobilisation across the constituency, urging Hon. Angibi to heed their call in the overall interest of continuity, stability, and inclusive development.
