The Village Head of Ombi One, Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital, Mr. Emmanuel Akuaden Madaki, has appealed to the Nasarawa State Government to construct the Transformer Street road, establish a primary healthcare facility, and provide other basic social amenities to improve the welfare of residents in the community.
Mr. Madaki made the appeal while delivering his New Year message at his residence in Ombi One, Lafia, as Nigerians marked the beginning of 2026.
According to the royal father, Ombi One community has over the years faced numerous challenges that require urgent government intervention, particularly in the areas of infrastructure, healthcare, education, security, and potable water supply.
He specifically called on Governor Abdullahi Sule to consider the community by constructing the Transformer Street road and establishing a police station to enhance the security of lives and property. He lamented the absence of a primary healthcare centre in the area, noting that women and children are the most affected due to limited access to basic healthcare services.
Mr. Madaki further disclosed that the community lacks public primary and secondary schools, appealing to relevant stakeholders to urgently address the situation. He also expressed concern over the absence of potable drinking water in the area.
Despite the challenges, the village head commended Governor Sule for his commitment to infrastructural development across the state, expressing confidence that the governor would extend such interventions to Ombi One. He assured that residents of the community would continue to support and pray for the success of the present administration.
The royal father also urged his subjects to live in peace and unity, irrespective of religious, tribal, or political differences, and encouraged them to be security-conscious by knowing their neighbours in view of the prevailing security challenges.
Speaking on behalf of residents, Mr. Peter Aku and Mr. Envorh Madi lamented that Ombi One has been left behind in the dividends of democracy but expressed optimism that Governor Sule would respond positively to their appeals in due course, given his passion for the development of Nasarawa State.
