A former lawmaker who represented Lafia Central Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Abdullahi Dahiru Angibi, has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of former Senator Godiya Akwashiki, describing his passing as a monumental loss to Nasarawa State and Nigeria at large.
In a condolence message issued on Thursday, Hon. Angibi extended his heartfelt condolences to the Nasarawa State Government, the people of Nasarawa North Senatorial District, the Aren-Eggon nation, the royal family, particularly His Royal Highness, Justice Ahmed Ubangari (Rtd), and indeed the entire people of Nasarawa State over the sad development.
Hon. Angibi described the late Senator Akwashiki as a seasoned legislator, grassroots politician, and an astute leader whose contributions to democratic governance and legislative development in the state would remain indelible.
“As a former colleague at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, I had the privilege of working closely with Senator Godiya Akwashiki.
He was a man of integrity, courage, and uncommon commitment to the service of his people,” Angibi stated.
He noted that the late lawmaker distinguished himself through selfless service, constructive debates, and unwavering dedication to the growth and unity of Nasarawa State, adding that his wealth of experience and wisdom would be greatly missed.
Hon. Angibi prayed that Almighty God grant the soul of the departed eternal rest and give his family, associates, and the people of Nasarawa State the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
