Member representing Keffi West Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly and Deputy Chief Whip, Hon. Ibrahim Aliyu Nana, has rolled out a massive ₦90 million empowerment initiative for his constituents, drawing commendation from Governor Abdullahi Sule for his outstanding legislative performance and people-oriented leadership.
Under the empowerment programme, the lawmaker distributed 56 motorcycles, 20 sewing machines, and ₦27 million cash grants to beneficiaries across the constituency.
He also commenced the payment of fully funded scholarships for over 20 students studying at the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, and the College of Health Sciences and Technology, Keffi.
The event, tagged “2026 Empowerment Initiative: A Legacy of Human Capital Development,” was held on Saturday at the Emir’s Palace, Keffi, and marked the fulfillment of Hon. Nana’s campaign promises to the people of Keffi West.
Stakeholders, party leaders, and beneficiaries at the event lauded the initiative, describing it as impactful and unprecedented, while calling for sustained support for the lawmaker beyond 2027.
Governor Abdullahi Sule, who was represented by the Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr. Ibrahim Tanko, praised Hon. Nana for initiating a programme aimed at improving the economic wellbeing of his constituents, noting that such interventions align with the administration’s vision of grassroots development.
The Governor urged residents to continue to live in peace, unity, and mutual understanding, while supporting government policies and programmes for the overall development of Keffi Local Government and Nasarawa State.
He also encouraged APC members to actively participate in the ongoing party e-registration exercise, stressing that it is critical to the party’s success in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Ibrahim Aliyu Nana expressed gratitude to his constituents for the support that brought him victory at the last election, stating that the empowerment initiative was his way of giving back to the people.
He disclosed that between 2024 and 2025, he provided fully funded scholarships to 53 students, describing it as the first of its kind in the history of the House of Assembly in the area.
According to him, the scholarship covers beneficiaries from admission through graduation.
The lawmaker emphasized that his priorities remain education, health, empowerment, electricity, infrastructure, and road development, noting that these sectors have direct impact on the lives of the people.
He pledged to do more within the remaining one and a half years of his tenure.
Earlier, the Chairman of Keffi Local Government, Hon. Dr. Idris Ahmad Damagani, alongside APC National Deputy Secretary, Abdulareem Kana, APC Chairman Keffi LGA, Alhaji Muhammad Bello Yakubu, Dangaladiman Keffi, Abubakar Gada, and Western Zone Coordinator to Governor Sule, Alhaji Yusuf Attajiri, commended the lawmaker for positively touching the lives of his constituents and urged him to sustain the momentum.
They collectively called on the people of Keffi West to continue to support Hon. Nana beyond 2027.
The empowerment items were distributed to beneficiaries drawn from the five electoral wards of Iya I, Iya II, Tudun Kofa, Hangaren Tudu, and Yara, including party leaders, elders, women, youths, support groups, and campaign team members.
Some beneficiaries, including Maryam Adamu, Zuwaira Lawal, Hauwa Adamu, and Usman Saidu, expressed appreciation to the lawmaker and pledged to make judicious use of the items to improve their livelihoods.
