NPC: New Federal Commissioner Assumes Office As Gov. Sule Pledges Support

The Honorable Federal Commissioner representing Benue State and overseeing Nasarawa State at the National Population Commission (NPC) has officially handed over to the newly appointed Federal Commissioner, Hon. Dr. Joseph Haruna Kigbu, in Lafia.
The handover ceremony took place earlier on Monday, December 22, 2025, at the NPC State Office Conference Hall in Lafia.

Shortly after the handover, the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, received Hon. Dr. Haruna Joseph Kigbu, Commissioner representing Nasarawa State at the National Population Commission, on a courtesy and thank-you visit at the Government House, Lafia.
Hon. Dr. Kigbu led a delegation comprising the Commissioner representing Benue State, Heads of Departments (HODs), and some Local Government Directors of Census (DCRs/Comptrollers) in the state.
During the visit, the delegation expressed appreciation to the Nasarawa State Government and sought continued collaboration and support to enable the National Population Commission successfully implement its programmes and activities across the state.
The Governor, in his response, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the National Population Commission in the effective discharge of its statutory responsibilities, particularly in data generation and population management for development planning.
