Joy in Minna As Gov. Bago Receives 130 Rescued Schoolchildren, Teachers

Niger State Governor Mohammad Umaru Bago has officially received the rescue of 130 St.Mary Catholic Primary and Secondary School children including 7 teachers in government house, Minna,on 22nd December,2025.

While handing over the school children to the governor,the
 National Coordinator,Counter Terrorism Centre,Major General Adamu Laka Rtd, revealed that the rescue mission was carried out in collaboration with the office of National Security Adviser to the President,DSS,Police as well as other security agencies.
He stated that the government had taken necessary measures to safe guard the life's of all Nigeria.

Laka applauded Nigerians for their support and prayers, adding that all the children had been finally rescued,none remained captive.
According to the retired General".All the children and their teachers were rescued unhalt".

He further explained that the rescue of 130 children has brought the end of the rescue mission.

Earlier,Niger State Governor, Mohammad Umaru Bago had appreciated President Bola Tinubu for his unwavering support towards the release of the school children.

The governor equally lauded Nigerians for their solidarity and prayers during the trying times.
"As we are approaching the yuletide,I am inviting the children and their parents back to Minna to celebrate Christmas with me".Bago added.

He however thanked God for the safe return of the children.
