FRSC, Security Chiefs Celebrate Retired Benue Sector Commander Ayodele for Exemplary Service

 Tributes poured in on Friday as top officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), security agencies, and transport CEOs honoured the retired Benue Sector Commander, Steve Ayodele, describing him as a symbol of discipline, excellence, and integrity whose legacy will inspire generations.

The event, held in Makurdi, marked the end of Ayodele’s distinguished career, which began in June 1992 and spanned 14 states across Nigeria.

 

Ayodele Led With Passion, Integrity — FRSC Deputy Corps Commander

Deputy Corps Commander, Training, Jude Asogwa, said Ayodele served with uncommon passion and set leadership standards that would remain a reference point in the Corps.

He noted that the retirement ceremony came with mixed emotions — celebrating a successful career while bidding farewell to “a man who embodied devotion to duty.”

Asogwa said retirement signified not an end, but a transition into a fulfilling new phase of rest, reflection, and joy. He prayed for God’s blessings and long life for Ayodele.

NSCDC, NAPTIP Leaders Hail His Honesty, Collaboration

Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Alice Larai, described Ayodele as “a wonderful person in deed and actions,” praising his sincerity and consistent support to her command.

Similarly, the NAPTIP Zonal Commander, Mrs. Gloria Bai, said Ayodele touched her life in a special way. She stated that cooperation between NAPTIP and FRSC flourished under his leadership, strengthening the fight against human trafficking.

Benue Links GM: ‘I Would Have Extended His Service by Five Years’

General Manager of Benue Links Nigeria Limited, Alexander Fanafa, applauded Ayodele’s humility and service-oriented leadership. He said if he had the authority, he would have extended Ayodele’s service by five years.

Fanafa added that the company would continue to engage Ayodele to speak to staff twice yearly due to his vast wealth of experience.

400 Special Marshals Recruited Under His Watch

Zonal Coordinator of the Special Marshals, Solomon Adaga, highlighted Ayodele’s numerous legacies, including encouraging the Special Marshals to embark on projects across the state.

He noted that Ayodele approved the recruitment of 400 Special Marshals, significantly boosting the corps’ operations and coverage.

Staff Officer, Policy, Research and Statistics, Emilia Ebute, described him as a mentor whose impact would not be forgotten “in a hurry,” noting his dedication and guidance to officers and marshals.

Ayodele Reflects on 33 Years of Service Across 14 States

In his remarks, Ayodele expressed gratitude to God for sustaining him throughout his service years.
He thanked service chiefs of sister agencies for their cooperation and appreciated the Special Marshals for always responding promptly to his requests.

He recalled beginning his FRSC career in June 1992 and working across 14 states, and described the people of Benue as “particularly wonderful.”
