Former Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has issued a strong rebuttal to an online publication claiming he resigned because he “could not stand and watch the US and Tinubu government bombing our brothers in the forest.”
In a statement released on his official Facebook page, Badaru described the report as false, malicious, and deliberately crafted to smear his reputation and create friction between him and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He stated that the viral publication did not originate from him or anyone authorized to speak on his behalf, stressing that the motives behind the fabrication were clearly mischievous and aimed at causing unnecessary tension.
Badaru explained that the genuine reasons for his resignation were formally communicated to President Tinubu and subsequently made public through conventional and social media channels, adding that any other insinuation was a “complete falsehood engineered by mischief makers.”
Reaffirming his continued loyalty, the former minister pledged unwavering support for President Tinubu, the Renewed Hope Agenda, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the nation approaches the 2027 general elections.
He further reiterated his commitment to Nigeria’s peace, security, and stability.
