President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has forwarded a list of 35 ambassador-nominees to the Senate for screening and confirmation.
The nominees, drawn from the 36 states and reflecting Nigeria’s geopolitical spread, comprise career diplomats, retired military officers, technocrats, politicians, and accomplished professionals across various fields.
The forwarded list marks a significant step in the administration’s plan to reinvigorate Nigeria’s foreign mission system and strengthen international representation.
According to the document released by the Presidential Media Centre, the nominees include:

The Senate is expected to begin the screening exercise in the coming days, after which the nominees who scale through will be assigned to various foreign missions as Nigeria’s envoys.
