Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, has submitted a Supplementary Appropriation Bill of N92,150,231,374.88 for the 2025 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly for consideration and approval.
The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Dr. Danladi Jatau, announced this during Monday’s plenary in Lafia, where the bill successfully scaled its first reading. He added that the House has fixed Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2025, for the bill’s second reading.
In the letter accompanying the bill, Governor Sule noted that the initial 2025 budget was crafted to achieve a realistic and implementable outcome amid prevailing economic uncertainties. He explained that the State Government has recorded improved inflows from the Federation Accounts, capital receipts—particularly from NG-CARES and SABER Programme for Results—as well as enhanced internally generated revenue during the fiscal year.
According to the Governor, the supplementary budget is necessary to harmonize accounting records and integrate new infrastructural priorities of his administration. These include the newly approved flyover project at Mararaba and provisions for recently established government agencies such as the Fire and Rescue Service, Education Trust Fund, and Electricity Regulatory Commission, among others.
“It has become expedient for Government to prepare a supplementary budget for the 2025 fiscal year and amend other line items to accommodate emerging policies, projects, and programmes,” Governor Sule stated, citing the need for adjustments due to shifts in national macroeconomic indicators.

Speaker Jatau assured the House’s readiness to give the bill expeditious consideration and passage.
It would be recalled that on Nov. 29, 2024, Governor Sule presented the initial N382.57 billion 2025 Appropriation Bill, tagged the Budget of Economic Growth and Stability, before the Assembly. Of that amount, N159.97 billion (41.82%) was allocated to recurrent expenditure, while N222.60 billion (58.18%) was earmarked for capital projects.
The Governor later signed the budget into law on Dec. 31, 2024, with a final approved figure of N384.3 billion, slightly higher than the earlier submission.
