The Nasarawa State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Aliyu Bello, has reaffirmed the party’s unity and unwavering support for Governor Abdullahi Sule, declaring that all members who previously sought “greener pastures” in other political platforms have now returned home to the APC.
Dr. Bello made the declaration on Monday while receiving Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada (SDP–Nasarawa West) at the APC State Secretariat along Shendam Road, Lafia, where the senator formally announced his return to the ruling party.
APC Chairman Reaffirms Party’s Strength
In his remarks, Dr. Bello dismissed the widespread propaganda suggesting that the APC had lost political strength in Nasarawa State, insisting that the so-called losses in previous elections were actually victories in disguise.
“Those who left the APC to seek greener pastures elsewhere are still part of us. Every one of them who contested and won their elections did so as true members of our great party,” he stated.
“Engineer A.A. Sule has provided the leadership, infrastructure, and governance direction that make APC the preferred choice. Those who claim the party has collapsed should ask themselves why they are seeking to contest under it,” he added.
The party chairman further commended Governor Sule for his visionary leadership in security, education, and healthcare, saying his developmental strides have continued to attract leaders and aspirants back to the APC.
“Our total loyalty is to God Almighty and to the leadership of His Excellency, Engineer Abdullahi Sule,” Bello declared. “The Governor has demonstrated patience, tolerance, and commitment to the unity of our party.”
He urged party members to remain united and avoid divisive utterances, emphasizing that the APC would continue to provide a level playing field for all aspirants ahead of future elections.
“As leaders, we must embrace sportsmanship and work together for whoever emerges as the party’s flag bearer. APC will remain the party to beat,” he stressed.
Sen. Wadada: ‘I Have Returned Home’
In his address, Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada described his return to the APC as a homecoming and expressed appreciation to Governor Sule and the party leadership for welcoming him back warmly.
“I am back to my home — the home I labored for, served, and helped to build,” he said. “As one of the founding members of the NPDP that merged to form the APC, it is only natural and responsible that I return.”
The senator recalled his political journey, acknowledging Governor Sule’s fairness and statesmanship during past political events.
“In 2019, destiny played out. I accepted God’s will and supported Engineer Sule, who has since justified the trust of the people. He has elevated Nasarawa State beyond expectations,” Wadada stated.
He further disclosed that his return to the APC was not a solo decision but one supported by his vast political network, spanning religious, traditional, and youth groups across the state.
“I am back with members from PDP, SDP, and other political parties. We are united under one vision — to support Governor Sule and strengthen the APC,” Wadada affirmed.
Acknowledgement of Gov. Sule’s Inclusive Leadership
Senator Wadada praised Governor Sule’s inclusive governance style, noting that his leadership has brought stability and progress to the state.
“Even when I was in the SDP, His Excellency never discriminated. He showed understanding and magnanimity, which helped stabilize our political environment. May God continue to reward him,” he said.
Unity, Patience, and Progress
Both leaders emphasized the importance of unity and discipline within the APC, pledging to consolidate the gains of the party and ensure victory in future elections.
The event, attended by top APC stalwarts, supporters, and stakeholders, was described as a symbol of reconciliation and renewed commitment toward strengthening the ruling party in Nasarawa State.
