NSCDC Inaugurates 300 Agro Rangers, Crack Squad To Strengthen Security Operations in Nasarawa

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nasarawa State Command, has inaugurated 300 operatives under its newly established Agro Rangers and Crack Squad units aimed at bolstering security operations across the state.

The inauguration ceremony, held at the Command Headquarters in Lafia, was presided over by the State Commandant, Samson Umoru Brah, who described the formation of the two specialized squads as a strategic move to enhance the Corps’ operational capacity in tackling emerging security threats.

According to Commandant Brah, the Agro Rangers Unit is tasked with protecting farmers, herders, farmlands, and the entire agricultural value chain to ensure food security, while the Crack Squad will serve as a Rapid Response Team to swiftly address security emergencies.

He charged the newly inaugurated operatives to demonstrate diligence, discipline, integrity, and professionalism in the discharge of their duties, emphasizing that the safety and welfare of citizens remain paramount.

“You have been carefully selected and will undergo rigorous training to make you combat-ready for the task ahead. I expect you to justify the confidence reposed in you by demonstrating utmost commitment, teamwork, and respect for human rights while safeguarding lives and property,” the Commandant stated.

Brah further reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to synergy with other security agencies and stakeholders to ensure sustainable peace, stability, and socio-economic growth in Nasarawa State.

The inauguration of the 300 operatives marks a major milestone in the Command’s continuous efforts to strengthen internal security architecture in alignment with the state government’s vision for lasting peace and protection of lives and property.
