The Peoples Alliance for Integrity and Accountability (PAIA) has raised fresh alarm over the renewed activities of one Ms. Destiny Thomas, who is alleged to be involved in serial cases of sextortion, blackmail, and deceit targeting prominent individuals across Nigeria.
Addressing journalists in Abuja on Friday, the group’s spokesperson, Mr. Oscar Ebri, said recent reports reaching the organisation point to “a disturbing resurgence of manipulation, false accusations, and extortion attempts” linked to the suspect.
According to PAIA, credible intelligence suggests that Ms. Thomas has continued to lure unsuspecting men into compromising situations with the intent to extort and tarnish reputations. The group alleged that her latest schemes appear more coordinated and targeted at individuals in positions of influence.
"This is not an isolated incident," Mr. Ebri said. "Our monitoring team has observed a consistent pattern of deceit and blackmail that has become a growing menace, especially through social and digital platforms."
The group also reiterated earlier claims that Ms. Thomas had been involved in similar controversies in the past, including incidents that reportedly led to disciplinary actions during her time at Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic, Zaria.
Mr. Ebri urged law enforcement agencies to intensify investigations into the matter and take decisive action to curb the rising cases of sextortion and online blackmail across the country.
"We call on all Nigerians, particularly public figures and professionals to exercise vigilance and avoid falling prey to online traps and deceptive interactions," he added.
"Anyone who experiences suspicious behavior should promptly report it to the relevant authorities."
Efforts to reach Ms. Destiny Thomas for her reaction were unsuccessful as calls and messages to her phone line went unanswered as of the time of filing this report.
