The Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Dr. Emmanuel Agwadu Akabe, on Tuesday represented Governor Abdullahi Sule at the event marking the two-year anniversary of Dr. Aliyu Bello as State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Mr. Yarus Dagusu as State Secretary.

The celebration, held at the APC State Secretariat in Lafia, was combined with the flag-off of a sensitization and Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) campaign aimed at boosting voter participation in the state.

Speaking on behalf of Governor Sule, Dr. Akabe commended Dr. Bello and Mr. Dagusu for their inclusive and people-centered leadership over the past two years.

He noted that rather than organizing mere fanfare, the APC leadership had chosen to use the occasion to drive voter awareness, describing it as a demonstration of responsible leadership.

“This is an opportunity for all of us to return to our constituencies, wards, and polling units to register and mobilize others.

Voter registration is our political weapon and the only way we can sustain our party’s strength in 2027 and beyond,” he emphasized.

Dr. Akabe also expressed concern over Nasarawa’s low turnout in the ongoing voter registration exercise as reported in national dailies, urging citizens to take advantage of the window to register and secure their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

The event drew attendance from government appointees, party leaders, special advisers, and grassroots stakeholders, all of whom commended the APC leadership for its inclusive approach and commitment to consolidating the party’s dominance in the state.
