The Honourable Commissioner for Education (HCE), Dr. John D. W. Mamman, on Thursday, September 4, 2025, led a delegation of security chiefs to inspect the newly constructed central mosque in Dari Town, Kokona Local Government Area, in preparation for its official commissioning scheduled for Friday, September 5, 2025.
The inspection exercise, which was aimed at ensuring adequate security and smooth logistics for the event, brought together key stakeholders, including the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Garaku, operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and representatives of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) responsible for traffic control in the area.
Speaking after the inspection, Dr. Mamman expressed satisfaction with the level of preparedness ahead of the commissioning.
He commended the collaborative efforts of the security agencies in ensuring that the event would be hitch-free, stressing that the mosque stands as a significant symbol of unity, peace, and spiritual growth for the people of Dari and its environs.
He noted that the commissioning of the mosque is not only a religious milestone but also a demonstration of the community’s commitment to moral and spiritual development.
The Divisional Police Officer of Garaku, while addressing newsmen, assured residents that adequate security measures had been put in place to safeguard lives and property during the ceremony.
Similar assurances were given by representatives of the DSS, NSCDC, and FRSC, who all pledged seamless collaboration to ensure the safety of worshippers and dignitaries expected at the event.
Community leaders in Dari have welcomed the development, describing the mosque project as a blessing that will enhance religious activities, foster communal harmony, and serve as a rallying point for moral guidance.
The mosque will be officially commissioned on Friday, September 5, 2025, with hundreds of worshippers, religious leaders, government officials, and traditional rulers expected to grace the occasion.
