The growing debate over which senatorial district will produce the next governor of Nasarawa State after the expiration of Governor Abdullahi Sule’s tenure in 2027 has continued to stir political interest across the state, particularly between the western and southern zones.

Addressing the issue during the recent All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders’ meeting in the southern zone, Governor Sule maintained a firm and neutral position.

He stressed that the choice of his successor remains in the hands of God, declaring,

“Only Allah knows who will succeed me when my tenure ends in 2027.”

His statement, which was received with loud applause, was seen by many as a demonstration of humility and respect for divine will, as well as a call for unity among political stakeholders.

Our correspondent, who interacted with a cross-section of residents and party faithful from the southern zone after the meeting, reports that the atmosphere was charged with chants of praise.

Supporters hailed Governor Sule as a leader of quality, confidence and integrity, describing him as a trusted statesman who places the collective interest of Nasarawa State above personal or sectional considerations.

They commended the governor’s continued commitment to even development and his emphasis on peaceful coexistence, noting that his style of leadership has further strengthened their faith in the APC’s capacity to sustain good governance in the state.
