Stakeholders of Ancho electoral ward in Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State have unanimously endorsed key All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders for the 2027 elections, citing their exceptional performance and commitment to development.
At a well-attended meeting on Sunday, the stakeholders gave their backing to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office, while also endorsing Governor Abdullahi Sule to vie for the Nasarawa North Senatorial seat when his tenure ends in 2027.
The group equally passed a vote of confidence on Hon. Jeremiah (JJ) Umaru, Member representing Akwanga/Nasarawa Eggon/Wamba Federal Constituency, urging him to seek a second term, and on Hon. Larry Ven-Bawa, Akwanga North representative in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, for another term in the state legislature.
The endorsement meeting was convened by Hon. Moses Bawa, Councillor representing Ancho ward. The motion was moved by Hon. Yunusa Adamu Amwe, Administrator of Akwanga West Area Administrative Council, and seconded by Hon. Aeron Salau Rija, Special Assistant to the Governor.
Speakers at the gathering lauded the leadership qualities and developmental strides of the endorsed leaders, stressing that continuity would consolidate the progress already recorded in the ward, local government and the state.
Prominent APC stalwarts and community leaders in attendance included Hon. Dr. Napoleon Elias Gyobe, State Project Coordinator ACReSAL; Hon. Yakubu Andrew, Head of Special School Lafia; Hon. Paul Tella, former SSA to the Governor; Hon. Maiwada Salihu Jambo, former SSA on political matters and ex-zonal APC Chairman, Nasarawa North; Hon. Mama Mbeje, former PA to the Governor; Hon. Mohammed Ayuba Zaki, legislative aide to Hon. JJ Umaru; Mr. Kefas Maiangwa; and Mr. Zabadi Sale, among others.
The stakeholders’ resolution underscored a collective desire for stability and growth, expressing confidence that the endorsed leaders possess the experience and vision to drive further development in Nasarawa State and Nigeria at large.
