Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has approved the appointment of Prof. Yakubu Yunusa Musa as the new Executive Chairman of the Borno State Hajj Commission, replacing Alhaji Mohammed Dawule Mainok.
The announcement, contained in a statement by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and spokesperson, Dauda Iliya, noted that the appointment is subject to confirmation by the Borno State House of Assembly.
Prof. Musa, a distinguished scholar and administrator from Shani Local Government Area, previously served as Director of the International Institute for Qur’anic Sciences at Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano.
He is a Professor of Arabic Studies and a member of the Borno State Arabic and Sangaya Education Board, with a track record of leadership in academic and administrative capacities.
Governor Zulum commended the outgoing Executive Chairman, Alhaji Mainok, for his dedicated service and directed him to assume duties at the Office of the Head of Service as a Permanent Secretary.
