The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, Ph.D, has called on leaders at all levels to inculcate moral values and discipline in the younger generation as a means of fostering societal peace, unity, and development.
Dr. Jatau made the appeal on Monday at the 2025 Annual Fellowship Camp of the Boys’ Brigade Nigeria, Nasarawa State Council, held at the NYSC Orientation Camp, Keffi Local Government Area.
The camp, which attracted about 3,250 youths from across the state, featured training sessions on moral values, discipline, and leadership.
Addressing participants, the Speaker commended the organization for its commitment to character-building, urging the members to remain good ambassadors of Christ wherever they find themselves.
“If everyone will inculcate moral values in the younger generation, our society will be better for it,” Jatau said.
He also lauded Governor Abdullahi Sule for his inclusive and unbiased leadership, which, according to him, has sustained peace, unity, and development in the state.
In appreciation of the Boys’ Brigade’s efforts, the Speaker donated a car to the association to aid its operations, noting that the gesture was aimed at easing their activities and encouraging them to continue in their mission.
Earlier, the State President of the Boys’ Brigade, Mr. Akolo Success Ahmed, described the organization as more than just a youth body, but a movement centered on discipline, character-building, and service to God and humanity.
He appealed for government and stakeholders’ support in providing mobility, a secretariat, land for agricultural projects, and a permanent campground for the association.
The Boys’ Brigade President also called on Governor Sule, his deputy Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, and Speaker Jatau to heed calls from their constituents to contest senatorial and House of Representatives seats respectively in the 2027 elections.
The event was attended by dignitaries including the representative of the Emir of Keffi, Dr. Shehu Chindo Yamusa, Amb. Isaac Kigbu, clerics, politicians, and other well-wishers.
