Niger State governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago has offered provisional employment to all the beneficiaries of the International undergraduate scholarship scheme of Sen. Muhammad Sani Musa.
The governor disclosed this during the official pre departure briefing and unveiling ceremony for 100 beneficiaries of the 2025 Scholarship programme of the Senator representing Niger East Senatorial District
Umaru Bago also announced the donation of $2,000 to each of the beneficiaries and in addition, gave N1m to each of the parents for their parental roles.
The governor who applauded Sen. Sani Musa for the initiative said, the Senator is making the State proud and will continue to partner with him for the overall growth and development of the State.
He described the Senator as a visionary leader and one of the best brains the state has while also revealing that the senator has also offered the State government additional 30 slots to be among the next phase of beneficiaries that will be sponsored to China to study other science related Courses.
Governor Bago while reiterating that the State government is following suit to sponsor 1,000 students to study abroad, called on beneficiaries to be good ambassadors of the State while outside the shores of the country
The Initiator of the International undergraduate scholarship and Senator representing Niger East, Sen. Muhammad Sani Musa said the initiative is to compliment the transformational agenda of the farmer governor geared towards achieving a new Niger
Sen. Musa said the scholarship programme which was put together to encourage brilliant young people achieve their dreams and added that portal will be opened for the next phase of the scholarship which will sponsor students to study medical, bio medical, robotics and Artificial Intelligence related courses.
Emir of Minna, Umar Faruk Bahago, in his remarks, applauded Sen. Sani Musa for giving opportunity to the less privileged to continue in their educational pursuit that will allow them contribute to the development of the society.
Chairman of the International Scholarship Committee, Ibrahim Balarabe disclosed that more than 600 people applied for the scholarship for three major areas to include Medical services, Information technology and engineering adding that 100 beneficiaries were selected after series of thorough processes which include drugs test, educational qualification verification and background checks.
Former Minister of State Foreign Affairs, Amb. Zubairu Dada who described education as the best legacy to give children acknowledged the efforts of Sen. Sani Musa for his thoughtful idea of helping the poor pursue their dreams and appealed to the beneficiaries to make very good use of the opportunity and should stay focused and shun bad influence.
