The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Nasarawa State has officially unveiled and inaugurated its State Steering Committee and 13 Local Government Area (LGA) Steering Committees, setting the stage for grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The ceremony, held at Otunsha Hotel in Keffi, was presided over by the State Coordinator and former Deputy Governor, His Excellency Chief John Mike Abdul, with the State Committee’s membership announced by Secretary Alhaji Jibril Sabo Keana (JSK).
The State Steering Committee features prominent political figures including Sen. Suleiman Adokwe, Hon. Adamu Oyanki, Dr. Umar Musa Galadima, Barr. John Matthew, Hon. Musa Bako Karshi, Prince Yamusa Chindo, among others.
Special Committees were also inaugurated to oversee the constitution of 10-member Ward Steering Committees across the state’s 13 LGAs, each to comprise seven men and three women. The LGA committees are chaired by notable leaders such as Sen. Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo (Doma), Sen. Patricia Naomi Akwashiki (Nasarawa Eggon), Barr. Mohammed H. Abdullahi (Karu), and Hon. Barr. In his charge, Chief Abdul urged committee members to be fair, inclusive, and diligent in their assignments, with a one-week deadline to submit ward-level structures.
Party stakeholders, including former ministers, senators, and past gubernatorial and legislative candidates, pledged massive mobilization of new members to secure victory in all elective positions in 2027 and “form a government of the people” in Nasarawa and Nigeria at large.
