With the 2027 general elections drawing closer, youths across the 13 Local Government Areas of Nasarawa State are mobilizing for a one-million-man march in support of former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Musa Ahmed Mohammed, urging him to contest the governorship seat.

The mobilization drive, which cuts across all zones of the state, is being coordinated by youth leaders, women groups, and community stakeholders who believe that Musa Ahmed Mohammed’s wealth of legislative and leadership experience uniquely positions him to provide purposeful governance.

Speaking during a preparatory meeting in Lafia, the convener, Comrade Ibrahim Adamu, said the youths are resolute in their conviction that the former Speaker has the qualities needed to unite the state and drive development.

“Rt. Hon. Musa Ahmed Mohammed is a proven leader with competence, humility, and vision.

His record as former Speaker shows he can handle the affairs of Nasarawa State effectively.

This march will send a strong signal that the youths are ready to stand with him,” Adamu declared.

Another youth representative, Aisha Usman from Karu LGA, stressed that the 2027 election is an opportunity for a generational shift in leadership.

“The majority of voters are youths, and we are united in our call. We want a leader with experience, courage, and inclusiveness.

That is why we are calling on the former Speaker to step forward and heed the call to serve,” she said.

Political observers note that the call on Rt. Hon. Musa Ahmed Mohammed, who played a key role in stabilizing the legislature during his tenure as Speaker, reflects growing momentum around his potential candidacy.

If he joins the race, he will likely emerge as a strong contender to succeed Governor Abdullahi Sule in 2027.

The organizers revealed that the march will be peaceful, symbolic, and statewide, adding that the date will be announced soon.
