In a swift and tactical operation, officers of the Nasarawa State Police Command have busted a notorious car snatching syndicate and recovered a stolen black Toyota Venza just hours after it was forcefully taken in Enugu State.
The breakthrough occurred on Saturday, June 1, 2025, when operatives of the Doma Division, acting on credible intelligence, intercepted and arrested four suspects along the Doma-Lafia Road. The suspects, all male, include:
Ibrahim Dahiru (30), from Angwan Rogo, Jos, Plateau State
Abdulrazaq Muhammed (27), from Angwan Rogo, Jos, Plateau State
Muhammad Sani (28), from Potiskum, Yobe State
Mustapha Isah (23), from Misau, Bauchi State
According to police sources, the suspects had allegedly conspired to snatch the Toyota Venza, with registration number KWL 668 GN (Abuja), at gunpoint in Enugu State. Acting swiftly, police intelligence units tracked the movement of the suspects into Nasarawa State, leading to their arrest and the recovery of the stolen vehicle.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, described the development as a major victory in the fight against inter-state auto theft syndicates.
He praised the dedication and professionalism of the officers involved and reiterated the Command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state.
While investigations are ongoing to unravel the full network behind the crime, CP Mohammed urged the public to remain vigilant and continue cooperating with law enforcement agencies.
The arrested suspects remain in custody and will be prosecuted upon conclusion of investigations.
