The Kilema Youths Development Association Lafia (KIYDAL) has distanced itself from a recent political disturbance attributed to a group of youths in Kilema, describing the incident as unnecessary and unrepresentative of the community’s values.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Association’s Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Iliyasu Garba, shortly after its monthly meeting held today in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.

Garba stated that KIYDAL strongly condemns the disruptive actions, emphasizing that such behavior tarnishes the image of Kilema youths and undermines the spirit of unity and progress the association stands for.

He issued a stern warning to individuals, especially those not indigenous to Kilema, who attempt to infiltrate the community to incite confusion, urging them to desist immediately in the interest of peace and development.

"Politics should never be seen as a do-or-die affair. Every Nigerian has the constitutional right to vote and be voted for," Garba stressed, highlighting the importance of political maturity for national growth.

The statement further urged all youths in Kilema and Lafia at large to engage in politics with civility, focus, and respect for diverse choices.

It cautioned them against being used by desperate politicians to cause unrest, noting that such actions would only sabotage the state government's ongoing peace-building efforts.
