The Nasarawa State Commissioner for Local Government, Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Aminu Mu'azu Maifata, has charged the newly appointed Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Governor Abdullahi Sule on Chieftaincy Affairs, Abdullahi Ibrahim Hassan, to focus on revitalizing and strengthening the traditional institution across the state.
Maifata gave the charge on Wednesday at the Ministry’s headquarters in Lafia, shortly after the newly appointed SSA, who holds the traditional title of Adon Garin Lafia, officially resumed duties.
Governor Abdullahi Sule recently appointed Abdullahi Ibrahim Hassan to the position as part of efforts to enhance governance through closer collaboration with traditional institutions.
Commending the governor’s choice, Maifata described the appointment of the Adon Garin Lafia as a “round peg in a round hole,” citing his experience and deep understanding of the traditional structure as key assets to the administration.
He urged the new SSA to justify the confidence reposed in him by bringing his expertise and dedication to bear in advancing the governor's vision for chieftaincy affairs and community development.
The Commissioner also used the opportunity to reaffirm Governor Sule's unwavering commitment to improving the livelihoods of the people through inclusive and grassroots governance.
In his remarks, the new SSA on Chieftaincy Affairs, Abdullahi Ibrahim Hassan, expressed gratitude to Governor Sule for the appointment and pledged his total loyalty and commitment to the responsibilities entrusted to him.
He assured the Commissioner of his full support in achieving the ministry’s objectives.
