The Federal Government has appointed Dr. Anisere Dele as the new Registrar of the Dental Therapists' Registration Board of Nigeria (DThRBN), an agency under the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.

Dr. Dele's appointment, which takes effect from May 5, 2025, will span a four-year tenure.

The Honourable Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Iziaq Adekunle Salako, officially presented the appointment letter during a brief ceremony at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja.

Dr. Salako commended the thorough and transparent process that led to the selection of Dr. Dele, stating that the Ministry was deliberate in ensuring only a capable hand would assume the role.

He expressed confidence in Dr. Dele’s ability to reposition the Board and strengthen regulatory practices in the profession.

The Minister charged the new Registrar with the task of eliminating quackery in dental therapy and shutting down unapproved training programmes in health institutions across the country.

"Your core responsibility is to regulate the profession.

That includes ensuring there are no unlicensed practitioners and that all training programmes meet accreditation standards," he said.

He further encouraged Dr. Dele to harness his experience and professional network to uplift the Dental Therapists’ profession nationwide.

The appointment was announced in a press release signed by Alaba Balogun, Deputy Director, Press and Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.
