May Day: Nasarawa Speaker Hails Workers, Pledges Legislative Backing for Enhanced Welfare

As workers across the country commemorate this year’s May Day celebration, the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Danladi Jatau, has extended warm felicitations to workers in the state, applauding their dedication, resilience, and vital role in driving governance and development.

In a statement signed by his Press Secretary, Jibrin Gwamna, Speaker Jatau described civil servants as the engine room of government. 

He assured that the 7th Assembly under his leadership remains committed to enacting people-oriented legislation that will enhance the welfare and working conditions of workers in the state.

Congratulating workers on the occasion, the Speaker hailed their patriotism, discipline, and contributions to state-building. He acknowledged their patience and understanding with government policies, emphasizing the need for continued collaboration in sustaining peace, unity, and development across the state.

Speaker Jatau commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for his administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare, including the prompt payment of salaries, pensions, and gratuities, as well as the recruitment of casual staff into the mainstream civil service and ongoing training initiatives.

He further assured organized labour of the Assembly’s support in fostering a productive working relationship between labour unions and the government to ensure effective service delivery. 

The Speaker urged workers to remain focused, united, and dedicated to the progress of Nasarawa State, reaffirming the legislature’s unwavering support for their enhanced welfare and capacity development.
