Some Workers in the Service of Niger State, have raised serious concerns over the refusal of the management of Pension Alliance Limited (PAL) to make refunds of their seven point five (7.5)
percent of their pension deductions.
The Workers raised their concerns in a press release jointly signed by the interim Coordinator and secretary of the group Mallam Ismaila Mijinyawa and Hajiya Sa'adatu Jibrin respectively and made available to Journalists in Minna Wednesday.
The Press release explained that the Management of the pension Alliance Limited have made some payment to some selected workers in the last seven months after the Present administration of governor Mohammed Umar Bago directed that some categories of civil servants were excepted from further deductions of the percentage as contributing pension.
According to the concerned workers, "the deliberate refusal of the Pension Alliance to refund us our money without any explanation has put us into serious concerns. They refunded some workers some seven months ago and they are now refusing to refund others without any reason"
The workers alleged that the management of the pension Alliance Limited have been giving flimsy excuses to the workers all these while without telling them why delaying the refunds of other workers without any reasonable explanation.
They threatened to invade their Minna corporate office should they continue to hold them to ransom without any reasonable explanation.
" Last week,they called us to inform us that some of us (the workers) have issues with their names. Those with such issues should go and dispose to court affidavit to rectify the issue with their names.
" We all went to court to dispose of the court affidavit and forwarded it to them. They still assured us we will start getting our payment alert immediately. This is two weeks now and we have not received any alert.
" We have exhausted our patients. The pain of it all is that they have not given us the reason they are subjecting us to these ungodly and painful states. The next option left for us now,is to invade their Minna office if our is not given to us we are not going to leave their office" they threatened.
However, Rimawaglobal.com reliably gathered that the top management of the Pension Alliance Limited (PAL) are transacting business with the money with some Commercial banks which is responsible for their refusal to refund to the workers.
It was further gathered that they refusal of the banks to share the dividend of their investment with the is responsible for the delay in the refunds.
However, on a visit to Minna corporate office of the Pension Alliance Limited (PAL opposite customs headquarters none of the staff could comment on the matter as they referred our correspondent to their Abuja headquarters.
