Few days to the expiration of the three-year tenure of Local Government Chairmen and Councilors in Nasarawa State, Comrade Ibrahim Isa Usman, the Secretary of Doma Local Government Council, has confirmed his candidacy for the Chairmanship of the Council.
Responding to recent claims by the current Doma Local Government Chairman, Arc. Ahmed Sarki Usman, that he had withdrawn from the race, Usman dismissed the statement as false.
He asserted that the outgoing chairman's remarks were merely an attempt to pressure him into stepping aside.
Usman stated, "I will only step down if I had not declared for the seat, but I have already announced my candidacy. I have consulted with many people, and there is no turning back on my ambition."
He further emphasized that his goal is to correct the wrongs occurring in local politics, stating, "My ambition is to bring about necessary changes and ensure progress in the community. I remain focused and committed to my mission."
Usman also vowed to be accessible to all constituents, promising to work towards elevating Doma Local Government to greater heights. In his concluding remarks, he emphasized unity, stating,
