A two-day meeting of Christian youth stakeholders, organized by the Christian Youth Initiative (CYI) and Northern Unity Initiative (NNUI), has ended with a resounding call for change in leadership and a plea for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to contest in the 2027 presidential election.
The meeting, held at Hotel Samaritan in Jos, Plateau State, brought together 150 representatives from 19 Northern states, who deliberated extensively on the country's precarious situation, insecurity, economic hardship, and the apparent lack of focus by the present administration.
The stakeholders condemned the worsening insecurity situation, economic hardship, and the recent increase in fuel price, which they believe will exacerbate poverty and inflation. They expressed disappointment in the current government's handling of these issues and called for a tested and trusted personality to salvage the nation.
In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting and signed by Eld. Mark Wosi who is the Convener urged Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to contest in the 2027 presidential election, citing his pan-Nigerian and detribalized stance as qualities needed to rescue the nation.
They pledged to mobilize Christian youth across the Northern region and Nigeria to support his candidacy.
Furthermore, the stakeholders called on Peter Gregory Obi to join forces with Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in the quest for a new Nigeria, suggesting a joint ticket to salvage the country.
The meeting emphasized the need for unity and collaboration among politicians to address the nation's challenges.
The communiqué serves as a clarion call for change in leadership and a demand for accountable governance, echoing the sentiments of millions of Nigerians who are seeking a better future for the country.
