Alhaji Isa Rubochi Laid to Rest Amidst Tears, Tributes: Gade Monarch Hails Him as Pillar of Community and History

The ancient city of Rubochi was filled with mourners as the late Alhaji Isa Ibrahim Gwamna Rubochi, a prominent elder statesman, was laid to rest amidst tears and heartfelt tributes. 

The 103-year-old patriarch passed away in the late hours of Wednesday, September 25, 2024.

 His funeral prayers were held the following morning at 11 a.m. at Pilot Primary School, Rubochi, where a large crowd gathered to pay their final respects. 

Dignitaries, including local officials and community leaders, attended the funeral to honor the life and legacy of the late Alhaji Isa Rubochi. Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Tashas, the Executive Chairman of Toto Local Government, described the deceased as a bridge-builder and pillar of the community, highlighting that his 103 years of life were marked by a quest for peace, unity, and development. 

Senator Usman Jibrin Wowo, deeply affected by the loss, referred to Alhaji Isa Rubochi’s passing as the fall of an "Iroko tree" in Gade land, emphasizing that his fatherly guidance would be greatly missed.

The Chief Imam of Rubochi, Mallam Kasim Suleiman, who led the funeral prayers, reminded mourners of the inevitability of death and praised the late elder for his honesty and courage. 

He urged the younger generation to emulate the virtues of the deceased, praying for his soul to be granted Aljanatul Firdausi.

HRH Alhaji Hussaini Agabi Mam, the Agabe of Gwargwada, eulogized Alhaji Isa Rubochi as a man whose contributions to the development of Gade people could never be forgotten, stating that his name would forever be etched in their history.

Alhaji Isa Ibrahim Gwamna Rubochi is survived by two wives, a younger brother, and several children, including prominent figures like Umaru Gwamna, a retired permanent secretary, and Jibrin Gwamna, the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly. 

He was buried according to Islamic rites at the central cemetery in Rubochi.
