The Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) is set to host a significant event titled the "Saturday Football Fiesta" on August 10th, 2024, at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos. The day-long event, scheduled from 7 am to 7 pm, is part of LSFA’s ongoing efforts to enhance football development in the state.

The event will begin with a FIFA Talent Development Scheme from 7 am to 10 am, organized in collaboration with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). The session will feature mentorship from NFF Technical Director Austin Eguavoen and the Scheme Director Nasiru Jibril.

Following the morning program, the focus will shift to the "It’s Time For Girls" initiative, aimed at empowering female players, coaches, and referees. The event will feature a mini-tournament for girls aged 6-17, along with training sessions, workshops, and mentorship opportunities. The initiative is dedicated to promoting gender equality and fostering growth in women’s football.

Alhaja Raliat Abdulsalam, Chairman of the Female Football Development Committee, emphasized LSFA's commitment to creating opportunities for women and girls in football, marking this event as a pivotal step toward a more inclusive future in the sport.

Austin Eguavoen and Nasiru Jibril are expected to arrive in Lagos on Friday and will depart after the event concludes on Sunday.
