The Kano State Government has announced the immediate termination of all casual and clerical staff working under the Kano State Internal Revenue Service (KIRS).
The decision, which was reached during the 20th Management Meeting of the Service held on Wednesday, 7th May 2025, was officially communicated through an internal circular dated 8th May 2025.
According to the circular signed by Salisu Auwalu, Staff Officer on behalf of the Executive Chairman, the move is part of an ongoing restructuring and realignment within the Service aimed at improving operational efficiency.
"The Service has unanimously agreed to terminate the appointment of all its Casual/Clerical Officers with immediate effect," the statement read.
While acknowledging the contributions of the affected staff during their tenure, the management directed them to hand over all service property and identity cards to their respective department heads without delay.
The circular concluded by wishing the disengaged staff success in their future endeavors.
