Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, has vowed to reconstruct the bridges and roads that were recently destroyed by floods in Suru and Maiyama Local Government Areas.
During an inspection tour on Tuesday, the governor visited the washed away bridge along the Suru-Kawara-Dakingari road and several rice farms affected by the floods in Suru LGA.
Governor Idris assured the residents that his administration is committed to rehabilitating the damaged infrastructure and supporting farmers to boost food production in the state.
He emphasized the government's determination to ensure food security and extend assistance to all communities across Kebbi State.
Key figures, including Hon. Faruku Maisudan, a member of the State House of Assembly representing Suru, and the Village Head of Kawara, praised the governor's proactive efforts in addressing the challenges faced by farmers.
The governor also inspected the washed away bridge along the Jega-Mayalo road in Maiyama LGA, where he promised immediate government intervention to restore the bridge.
Additionally, he assessed the damage to a culvert along Diggi road, pledging that the state government would undertake its rehabilitation.
The governor was accompanied on the inspection tour by Deputy Governor Sen. Umar Abubakar-Tafida, SSG Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida, former Governor Sa'idu Usman Nasamu-Dakingari, and other key officials.
In a statement signed by Ahmed Idris, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, the commitment to infrastructure restoration and agricultural support was highlighted as part of Governor Idris' dedication to enhancing the well-being of Kebbi State residents.
