In a strong show of unity, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors, Board of Trustees, National Working Committee, and other party organs have pledged unwavering support for Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.
During a significant meeting at the Government House in Enugu on Wednesday, they vowed to resolve the ongoing political crisis in the state.
The communique issued highlighted the party’s commitment to good governance in Rivers State, urging those inciting conflict to desist.
It also addressed key national issues, including the state of the economy, upcoming party congresses, and the implications of the Supreme Court judgement on local government autonomy.
Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, who chaired the meeting, criticized the Federal Government’s handling of the economy and supported labor’s demands for a substantial salary raise.
The forum also called for credible, violence-free elections in Edo and Ondo states and emphasized the importance of local government autonomy.
Notable attendees included Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo, and other PDP governors.
