Nasarawa State Government and Bobtract Tractor Limited Sign Historic MoU for Tractor Assembly Plant

In a landmark development, the Nasarawa State Government and Bobtract Tractor Limited have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a tractor assembly plant in Nasarawa State. 

The MoU was signed on Thursday, July 11, 2024, in Abuja, with Governor Abdullahi A. Sule, of Nasarawa State, in attendance.

The partnership aims to leverage the facilities of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) in Lafia to assemble tractors. This initiative is expected to provide affordable, high-quality tractors to farmers in the state, thereby enhancing agricultural productivity and mechanization.

 Adding that the project is anticipated to create jobs and stimulate economic growth within the state.

Governor Sule expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting its alignment with the state's agricultural development strategy and vision to position Nasarawa as a leading agricultural hub in Nigeria. 

The Governor had previously facilitated an agreement between NASENI and Bobtract Tractors to use the agency's Lafia facilities for tractor assembly.

Bobtract Tractor Limited is expected to roll out its first set of tractors within 120 days, marking a significant milestone in Nasarawa State's efforts to attract investors, transform the agricultural sector, and promote economic development.

 Hon. Peter Ahemba, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Affairs, who emphasized the MoU's role in advancing the state's economic and agricultural goals.
