A group of concerned members of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State, under the aegis of Concerned PDP Members (CPM), have written a letter to the State Chairman, Hon. Chris Hassan, expressing their grievances and concerns over alleged injustices and neglect by some Local Government Area (LGA) party executives.
The group, led by Arc. Macham Makut, Chairman of CPM, congratulated the State Chairman and the party leadership on the recent electoral victory and Supreme Court judgment in favor of Governor Caleb Mutfwang. However, they drew attention to several pressing issues affecting party members across various LGAs.
The concerns include allegations of favoritism, neglect, and unequal distribution of palliatives by some LGA party executives, which have led to disenchantment and erosion of trust among grassroots members
The group also accused some LGA party chairmen and secretaries of diverting resources meant for ward and polling unit officials for personal use.
The CPM called on the State Chairman to intervene swiftly and decisively to address these allegations, investigate the requests for second terms from various LGAs, and ensure that the party's principles of inclusivity, equity, and justice are upheld at all levels of party governance.
The group expressed confidence in the State Chairman's leadership and urged him to take prompt action to address these critical issues, which threaten the unity and integrity of the party in the state.
This development comes at a time when the party is celebrating its recent electoral victory and seeking to consolidate its position in the state.
The concerns raised by the CPM highlight the need for the party leadership to address internal issues and ensure that all members are carried along in decision-making processes.
