Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management,Niger State says it received yet another shocking and painful incidences of banditry attacks in Lanta, Tunga, Dnakau and Juweedna communities of Erena in Shiroro Local Council of the State.
Statement issued to journalists by the Director Media and Strategy of the Ministry,Habibu Abubakar Wushishi, revealed that the communities were attacked Thursday,20th June,2024, adding that many cattle and sheep's were rustle.
The statement explained that no case of kidnapping was reported,it said many houses in Lanta village were burnt down by the attackers.
It further noted that about 600 persons displaced from the villages are presently in Erena and Kuta IDP camps.
In a similar development,the statement also disclosed that the Ministry received report of boat mishap on the River Niger (Kippo) in Mokwa Local Council of Niger State,it hinted that (same brothers of same parents) who were on the boat fishing at about 10pm loss their lives
The cause of the mishap was said to have emanated from heavy rain fall and wind storm which occured on the fateful day
