The National President of the National Artisanal and Small Scale Mining Cooperative Society (NASSMCS), Alhaji Abdullahi Dantasidi,has assured Nigerians that democracy is the key to propelling the nation to greater heights, despite the current economic challenges.
In a statement on Wednesday in Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa state, Dantasidi congratulated Nigerians on the celebration of Democracy Day and 25 years of unbroken democratic governance.
He urged Nigerians to be patient and have faith in President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope agenda, which, when fully implemented, he believes will make the country safer, richer, greater, and more attractive to foreign investments.
"The strides of President Bola Tinubu's administration in the mining sector are a testament to this progress," Dantasidi said. "Given the antecedents of this administration and under the leadership of the Minister of Solid Minerals, Mr. Dele Alake, we artisanal miners firmly believe that in no distant time, the mining sector will compete shoulder to shoulder with the oil sector in terms of revenue generation for the country."
He emphasized that this progress is possible due to the healthy and unbroken democracy Nigeria currently enjoys, which must be protected and sustained at all costs.
Dantasidi solicited more support for the President and pledged the full commitment of artisanal miners to revamp and reform the mining sector.
He also urged Nigerians, regardless of religion, political affiliation, or tribe, to continue contributing to the growth and development of Nigeria.
