Today, President Bolaji Ahmed Tinubu commissioned a cutting-edge Lithium processing factory in Nasarawa State, established by Avatar New Energy Materials Company Limited, a Chinese firm. The event, held at Kama Otto in Nasarawa Local Government Area, was executed in collaboration with the Nasarawa State Government. The President was represented by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
Dignitaries present included Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake, federal lawmakers, former state leaders, and traditional rulers.
In his address, Tinubu emphasized the significance of this partnership between the Federal Government, the state, and investors, highlighting the pivotal role of the Lithium Company in empowering Nigerian youth and boosting the nation's standing in the global Lithium market.
President Tinubu reaffirmed the government's commitment to diversifying the economy through mining, stressing the importance of maximizing mineral resources for national development. He urged support for government policies and called on local and international companies to collaborate with Avatar Company for Nigeria's growth.
Governor Abdullahi Sule acknowledged the President's support in attracting such investments to Nasarawa State and praised the community's cooperation in securing the factory site against previous security challenges.
Minister Dele Alake commended Avatar New Energy Materials Company for setting a profitable precedent with the Lithium factory, underscoring the growing interest in similar projects within Nigeria.
