Following the escape of some inmates from Sulja Federal Correctional Custody, the Minna old Correctional center has transferred a total of Eighty Four Inmates from the facility.
The inmates who are mostly on death rolls were said to be in the habit of fomenting trouble with other inmates in the custody
In Order to forestall any possible uncertainty that may lead to break down of Security in the facility the command took the measure to secure the correctional facility.
It was reliably gathered that the inmates on the death rolls (IDR) were in the unnecessary crisis in most of the correctional custodies across the country as a result of their unknown fates in the correctional centers.
Speaking in a telephone interview with Journalists in Minna at the weekend, the Spokesman Nigeria Correctional Service (Ncos) Niger State Command Mr. RABIU Mohammed Shaibu CSC who confirmed the report, stated that the command took measures to ensure the safety of the facility.
According to the command Spokesman, the state controller of the command Alhaji Hamisu Isah as a seasoned Correctional personnel would not take any chance for granted in ensuring the safety of the correctional facilities across the state.
He explained that the Command under the leadership of Alhaji Hamisu Isah, has already placed the correctional formations across the state on red alert to forestall any unforeseen insecurity in the correctional Custody assuring with the measure put in place the centers will be safeguard.
" The controller of the Correctional Service in Niger state Command, Alhaji Hamisu Isah Mohammed will not compromise in securing Custodial centers across the state.
" Which informed the measures put in place across the Custodial centers across the state.Already, our armed squad have been put on red alert to combat any unforeseen circumstances that may happen" he stated
Equally,the Niger State command Nicos spokesman told Journalists that the Command has witnessed a jailbreak some " four or there about years back since that unfortunate incidence, we have fortified and put our armed squad on their toes to beef up security across the eight Custodial centers in Niger State" he told Journalists.
