Senator Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo, representing Nasarawa South Senatorial district, has pledged to prioritize the long-overdue Doma-Rafin Gabas Federal Road project, which was gazetted in 1974. In an exclusive interview following his visit to windstorm victims in Agbashi and Iponu communities, Onawo affirmed his commitment to ensuring the feasibility of the 146 km road project for as long as he serves as senator.

Acknowledging the historical significance of the road, Onawo highlighted its decades-long neglect and pledged to initiate action for its commencement.

He also promised to address the infrastructural needs of communities within the five Local Government Areas under his representation.

While emphasizing the legislative role of senators, Onawo underscored the importance of infrastructure in community development, citing the proverbial Chinese adage, "development follows road."

The senator's efforts to address infrastructure challenges, including the Doma-Rafin Gabas road, have garnered praise from his constituents.

However, the paramount ruler of Doma, Alhaji Ahmadu Aliyu Oga, urged Onawo to extend his projects beyond Doma and remain accessible to constituents.

In response, Onawo reiterated his commitment to equitable development across his senatorial district and emphasized the importance of engaging quality contractors for effective project execution.

The monarch echoed the sentiment, urging contractors to prioritize quality workmanship and timely project delivery for the benefit of the community.

As Senator Onawo continues to champion infrastructural development, the expectations of his constituents remain high, with hopes for tangible progress on the long-awaited Doma-Rafin Gabas Federal Road project.
