Abuja - The Federal University of Lafia Teaching Hospital is poised to commence operations soon, following a recent thank-you visit led by Hon. Maiangwa from the Nasarawa State Liaison office in Abuja.
The visit, which was led by Emir of Lafia and Chairman of Nasarawa State Council of Chiefs, Hon. Justice Dr. Sidi Bage Muhammad I (Rtd), aimed to express gratitude to the Hon. Minister of Health and Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, for his efforts in transforming the health sector.
During the visit, the Emir of Lafia praised President Bola Tinubu's renewed Hope agenda, emphasizing its impact on healthcare accessibility and quality in Nasarawa State.
He expressed satisfaction with the Minister's performance and support, particularly towards Lafia, the state capital.
Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad I (Rtd) highlighted his concern over the delay in the hospital's take-off and stressed the importance of its timely commencement.
He acknowledged Governor Abdullahi Sule and former Governor Senator Umaru Tanko Almakura for their contributions towards facilitating the establishment of the teaching hospital.
In response, Prof. Pate assured the Emir of Lafia that the Federal University of Lafia Teaching Hospital would soon become operational.
He commended the Emir's leadership and track record in the nation's judiciary, affirming that the teaching hospital's establishment is imminent.
The Federal University of Lafia Teaching Hospital, approved by former President Muhammadu Buhari, will be located at the state specialist hospital DASH Lafia, which has been allocated as the permanent site for its take-off following swift legislation by the Nasarawa State House of Assembly.
