The traders highlighted the detaining of some individuals at the A Division Police Station in Lafia in connection with the allegations, underscoring the seriousness of the situation.
Built by the Nasarawa state Government with a comprehensive building plan adhering to global standards, Lafia Modern Market has been a cornerstone of commerce in the region.
However, recent actions by market management to allow the erection of unauthorized structures have sparked outrage among traders.
Isa Dahiru Isa and Abubakar Abdullahi, prominent voices among the protesting traders, emphasized the detrimental impact of these structures on business activities and customer flow within the market.
They called upon Governor Abdullahi Sule and other stakeholders to intervene swiftly before the situation escalates further.
Urging for a thorough investigation into the matter, traders demanded transparency from market management, insisting on proof of government approval for the construction of stalls in strategic locations.
They highlighted Governor Sule's commitment to trade and investment, urging him to safeguard the interests of traders and prevent further disruptions to business operations.
