"President Bola Tinubu reaffirmed his administration's dedication to improving healthcare access for all Nigerians during a meeting with Professor Benedict Oramah of Afreximbank and delegates from King's College Hospital, London. Tinubu lauded the collaboration between Afreximbank and KCH London to establish the Africa Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) in Abuja by 2025. He stressed Nigeria's readiness to support the project, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing healthcare and human development. As the AU Champion for Human Resources for Health, Tinubu urged Afreximbank to continue investing in healthcare infrastructure to address Africa's healthcare challenges. The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, disclosed a $1 billion facility agreement with Afreximbank to finance private sector investments in Nigeria's healthcare sector. Professor Oramah reiterated the bank's commitment to enhancing health infrastructure in Africa and reducing medical tourism, thereby fostering intra-Africa trade and job creation.
