The Niger State Governor Umar Mohammed Bago has fulfilled the pledge he made to the family of the late registrar of Sharia court in Ibbi in Mashegu local government area of Niger State Mallam Muhammadu Namaru.
It will be recalled that the registrar was abducted and killed by some gang of dare-devil armed bandits during a deadly attack they launched in the area.
The chief Judge of Niger State Justice Halima Ibrahim Abdulmalik during a special court session to mark the 2023 lagal year made a passionate appeal to the governor to assist the bereaved family of the deceased with financial support to cushion the effect of the hardship the family were passing through as a result of the Killing of their breadwinner.
Governor Umar Mohammed Bago in response to the request of the chief Judge donated the sum of two million naira to the family.
Presenting the money to family at the family resident in Minna Monday, the chief Judge Justice Halima Ibrahim Abdulmalik who was represented by the chief registrar of the Niger State High court Hajiya Amina Lamide Musa explained that in response to the pledge of the governor of Niger State Umar Mohammed Bago " we presented the sum of N2 milion to the bereaved family.
She stated that the money will assist in alleviating the problems the bereaved family will be facing as a result of the Demise of their breadwinner.
She told the bereaved family to make proper use of the money to cushion their plight by making an impact on the children he left behind.
Receiving the money on behalf of the family, the widow of the registrar Mrs Aishat Mohammed Namaru and his son Mohammed Mohammed Namaru thank the chief registrar and the management of the state Judiciary for their kind hearted gesture.
She promised to utilize the money for the benefits of the family, assuring
that the money would be judiciously used to impact on the family.
The Chief registrar was accompanied by the Director Media and publicity Niger State High court Alhaji Ahmed Abubakar Nami, The Director Finance in the state Judiciary Alhaji Ndagi Gimba, the Staff officer Niger state Judiciary Alhaji Dauda Wasa Kuta, and the Chief registrar Sharia court of Appeal Niger State Isah Sarki Paiko among other staff.
