Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Danladi Jatau, has urged Nigerians to embrace peace, unity and co-exist well with one another irrespective of ethnic and religious differences for development to thrive in the country and build an egalitarian society. 

Rt. Hon Jatau made the call while playing host to different groups and associations, who were on congratulatory visit on him in Lafia today.

The Speaker said that no society would achieve speedy progress and development without peace and unity hence the need of his call in that direction.

He appreciated different groups for the visit and for honouring him with awards and commendations, saying that it would encourage him to leave above board.

The Speaker appreciated them for the visit and assured of his readiness to provide purposeful leadership.

He also  urged the traditional rulers and other groups to sensitize the people on unity, peace and together irrespective of their differences. 

According to him, I always preach unity and  peace due to its importance to societal development as there will be no development without peace

"I want to appreciate God, my Honourable members and Gov. Sule for my emergence as Speaker of the Seventh Assembly

" I want to urge us all to use our diversities as our source of strength to promote unity, peace, progress and development," the Speaker said.

The Speaker appreciated Gov. Abdullahi Sule for his developmental strides and urged the people of the state to give the Governor their maximum support to succeed.

Earlier, Chief Adams Makka Nangba, the Spokesperson of Forum of Eggon District Heads, who is the District Head of Wakama said that the visit was to congratulate Speaker Jatau and other members of the House who are Eggon extraction on their elections into the State Assembly. 

They prayed and assured the Speaker of positive advices, support and wished him well in his new assignment. 

Also, Hon Mike Egila, the National Speaker of Nigeria House of Dream Parliament (NHODP) congratulated Speaker Jatau, his Deputy, Rt.Hon Muhammad Oyanki over their emergence as leaders of the House.

Egila presented award of Excellence to the Speaker and his Deputy for their commitment to development.

Global Alliance for Peace and Unity led by its President General, Hon Solomon Perkya, rejoiced with Jatau on his emergence as Speaker of the House.

Perkya presented Certificate of Commendation to the Speaker for peace, unity and quality representation naming him as  National Patron of the association. 

Eggon Lawyers Forum led by Barr. Iliya Zabili  also congratulated and rejoiced with Speaker Jatau on his emergence, prayed and wished him well.

They assured him of their support to succeed.

In a related development, Rt.Hon Danladi Jatau, the Speaker also hosted Mbegir Humanitarian Initiative, NGO, led by the NGO Chief Executive Officer/Founder, Elisha Rahab Mbegir, who were in the assembly to sensitize the staff on prevention of breast cancer.

The Speaker  commended the efforts of the NGO for the awareness campaign, saying that it would reduce the rate of breast cancer in the state.

Earlier, Chief Executive Officer/Founder, Elisha Rahab Mbegir of the NGO said that they were in the assembly to sensitize the staff of the House on the prevention of breast cancer.

She disclosed that the disease has killed many people in the state, adding that early detection of the disease would reduce its rate in the state.
