All Progressives Congress (APC) Chieftain and former House of Assembly member representing Toto/Gadabuke constituency, Hon. Usman Labaran Shafa, has lauded the commitment and sincerity of purpose exhibited by the Executive Chairman of Toto Local Government Council, Hon. Aliyu Abdullahi Tashas, in ensuring the party's cohesion despite the disruption caused by the Appeal Court's removal of its political leader and Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Abdullahi Balarabe, as the member representing Umaisha/Ugya constituency.
In an interview with our correspondent after the stakeholders meeting held at the Abdullahi Adamu Youth Centre in Toto, Shafa emphasized the necessity for unity and support for the APC within Toto LG. He urged party stalwarts not to defect but to stand by the party, emphasizing the need to benefit from Governor Abdullahi A. Sule's governmental support.
Shafa praised Balarabe as a leader sent by God and highlighted his contributions to various projects. He urged party structures in the LG to prioritize unity over division, emphasizing the importance of working as a cohesive team to recover losses in future elections.
Commending Chairman Tashas' leadership, Shafa urged continued unity and prayed for the party's coherence. He expressed confidence in Balarabe's eventual return as a leader focused on development, peace, and security.
Additionally, Shafa appreciated the presence of various party leaders at the stakeholders meeting, including two Commissioners, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Hon. (Barr) Shuaibu Labaran Magaji, Commissioner for Health Dr. Gaza Gwamna, State APC Secretary Yurus Dagusa, Toto LGC Vice Chairman Hon. Abubakar Haruna Kwanakis, erstwhile Senior Special Assistant to Governor Sule Hon. Adah Goje, and others.
The former lawmaker called for consistent meetings among party leaders to keep followers updated on party activities when necessary.
