Nigeria @66, Nasarawa @30: Gaban, Tanimu Salihu Felicitate with Citizens
SDP leaders call for unity, peace, good governance and sustainable development

The National Leader of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Shehu Musa Gaban, and the party’s Governorship Candidate in Nasarawa State, His Excellency Tanimu Salihu, have felicitated with Nigerians and the people of Nasarawa State as the country marks its 66th Independence Anniversary and the state commemorates 30 years of its creation.
In a goodwill message marking the dual celebrations, Gaban and Salihu described the anniversaries as significant milestones in the history and development of Nigeria and Nasarawa State.
They said Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary provides an opportunity for citizens to reflect on the nation’s journey since independence, celebrate its achievements and renew their commitment to building a more peaceful, united and prosperous country.
The SDP leaders also congratulated the people of Nasarawa State on the 30th anniversary of its creation, noting that the milestone provides an opportunity to reflect on the progress recorded over the past three decades and the responsibilities ahead.
They acknowledged the contributions of successive administrations, traditional rulers, community leaders, women, youths, religious bodies, civil society organisations and other stakeholders to the development of the state.
Gaban and Salihu urged citizens across the state to continue to uphold peace, unity and mutual respect, stressing the importance of cooperation in advancing sustainable development.
They further called on leaders at all levels to remain responsive to the needs and aspirations of the people, particularly in education, healthcare, agriculture, youth empowerment, employment creation, infrastructure and economic development.
According to them, the future of Nigeria and Nasarawa State requires the collective efforts of government and citizens, with everyone playing a responsible role in strengthening democracy, promoting peaceful coexistence and advancing development.
The SDP leaders expressed optimism about continued progress in Nigeria and Nasarawa State and prayed for peace, stability, unity and prosperity across the country.
They wished Nigerians a happy 66th Independence Anniversary and the people of Nasarawa State a happy 30th anniversary of the state’s creation.
