Katsina at 39: Pray Against Insecurity, Bad Governance, Babba Kaita Urges Citizens

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Katsina State, Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita, has urged citizens to use the 39th anniversary of the state's creation to pray for divine intervention against insecurity, poverty and bad governance.

Kaita congratulated the people of Katsina State on the anniversary while calling for sober reflection on the challenges confronting the state.
Kaita said although the anniversary would ordinarily be a moment for celebration, the prevailing security and economic challenges required citizens to seek divine intervention.
“Instead of dining and dancing, therefore, I strongly recommend we have a sober reflection and pray for divine intervention so that God can, in His infinite wisdom and mercy, remove us from the current terrible situation,” he said.
He observed that a child born 39 years ago would have attained adulthood by now, stressing that Katsina State should equally have recorded greater progress and development.
While acknowledging the contributions of past leaders to the growth of the state, Kaita expressed concern over what he described as the current pressure faced by residents, including insecurity, poverty and hunger.
He urged the people of Katsina State to critically reflect on their choices ahead of the 2027 general elections and support leadership that would prioritise security, development and the welfare of citizens.
The ADC candidate said his party represented a departure from what he described as bad governance, adding that it was committed to bringing about positive changes and ensuring that citizens were carried along in the development of the state.
He also called on the people to continue praying for peace, security and prosperity in Katsina State.
